Customer PRAISES for
DiCarlos Pizza!

The Hart Family
Maryland
My wife and I are both from the Wheeling, WV area
originally. We currently live in Maryland (about 40 miles south of D.C.).
Every time we go back to visit family, we have to have Dicarlos pizza. My
brothers and I have running jokes about who can eat the most and we text
each other whenever we are enjoying Dicarlos. I say all of that to ask
this: Is it possible to have some Dicarlos UPS'd to my home in Maryland? I
would be very interested in doing so, as we have also go our 3 daughters
hooked on it as well.
Thanks in advance, The Harts

Hey!
I moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1985 from the Ohio Valley! The
New Cumberland, Weirton area. The thing I miss the most is Dicarlo's
pizza! I still rave about it! When I do get a chance to return, Dicarlo's
is a must have! Oh how I wish I could order it and have it shipped!! (I'm
very serious)
Here's hoping I get back soon to enjoy Dicarlo's!

Let me tell you how happy I am that there is a
Dicarlo's Pizza within a 2 hr. drive. After graduating from West Liberty
10 yrs. ago, I have not had fresh DiCarlo's pizza since. My sister still
lives in the area ,Follansbee WV. She goes to the one in Wellsburg. I live
in Mechanicsville Va., which is about 1.5 hrs to you. She does bring me
pizza and a bag of cheese each time she comes to visit. I am going to try
to convince my husband that we need to make a trip to Chesapeake to get
some pizza. My kids have no idea what they are missing!!!!!!!!!

Every time we would
travel back to the Weirton/Wheeling, WV area it was a must to go to
DiCarlo's. Now we can avoid that 8+ hour trip and enjoy a taste of "home"
right here in our backyard.
Thank you Millet for opening the shop on Cedar Road...I've told a lot of
people about your place and those who have tried it have told me they have
now tasted the best
pizza on earth.

When we drove Cedar Rd &
saw the famous DiCarlo's sign, we could not believe out eyes!! After going
in, our hopes were confirmed...DiCarlo's finally made it to Virginia!!
Just seeing the store every time we drive by, right here in my area is
surreal...we're blessed to have it right in our own backyard.
Looks like we'll finally be using our treadmill from now on =)

After walking in the first night, I called the wife and said
you won't believe the smell. Since then we have mad the trip on several
occasions, including the super bowl.
The best part is living just far enough away to steam melt the cheese and
still be warm. And surprising enough it tastes great in the day light and
unimpaired. Good Stuff for a quick flashback.

While on
a recent business trip to Florida from West Virginia, I couldn't believe
it when I saw a DiCarlo's Original Pizza just off the highway in
Chesapeake, Virginia. To discover it had a local owner from the Ohio
Valley, where I had been eating DiCarlo's Pizza since it was 8 for a
$1.00, made the stop even more rewarding. I can't say enough about the
pizza or the way Janet and her family treated me. I know I'll be stopping
by on my next trip south and suggest all from the Ohio Valley area do the
same when they plan their vacations to the eastern seaboard this summer.
My only regret was that I didn't get some "to go" to bring back DiCarlo
memories to others that I visited on my trip who had relocated.

I am originally from Steubenville, Ohio, and my mom was raised in
Wheeling, WV. So I grew up eating DiCarlos Pizza! I moved to Virginia
Beach in 1996, and have tried so many different pizza's, but none even
came close to DiCarlos. There are no square cuts here in Va Beach!!
My husband and I got married about a year ago, and he is from Altoona, PA.
Some of his friends there had been to Wheeling, and had DiCarlos pizza,
and we kept telling my husband how wonderful it was. I tried every pizza
place in Altoona, which has about 4 places that have square cuts, but none
of them compared to my DiCarlos.
My husband just called me on the phone and told me that he heard about a
new DiCarlos pizza in Chesapeake, and I thought for sure he was kidding
me!! To my surprise and total excitement, I looked it up on the internet,
and found it!! Guess where we are going for dinner tonight??!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH from bring DiCarlos pizza to this area!! I can't wait to
tell my family so that they can go there too!!!

We were trying a new way to Greenbrair Mall and what
did we see to our amazment-A red DiCarlo's sign. My husband said did you
see what I thought I saw-it can't be. We're coming this way on our way
home to see if it is true. My husband and I grew up in Follansbee, WV. We
have lived in E-City, Nc for almost 13 yrs. We grew up on Di's in
Wellsburg but have had Weirton, and Steubenville as well. We went to
school at WLSC and made many a mid-night run off the hill for Wheeling
Di's.
When we got done at the mall we stopped to make sure it wasn't a mirage
and if it was the pizza was awsome! We got a tray and it won't be the
last. As we were driving away I called my best friend in Wellsburg to tell
her we had DiCarlo's in the Van and she thought we came home for
Christmas.
We can't wait to go to VA again so we can have it again. The 30 minute
drive beats an 11 hour car trip home to WV. My sibling are going to be
mad-DiCarlo's was one reason we went home to WV now we just have to drive
to VA.
Thanks a bunch,
Michele and Mark C.

Newport News, VA
I have lived in Newport News since 1976,but
grew up in Follansbee WV. For the first 20 years of my life DiCarlo's was
the only pizza I knew. After serving my country in the U.S.N. .then again
as merchant seaman, Dicarlo's was not readily available to me, but I never
forgot. From time to time I would make my way back to Follansbee to visit
my dad, always timing the 8-9 hour drive as to arrive at the opening time
of the Wellsburg shop. One day I was looking @ the DiCarlo's website ,(
just wanted to see a picture of the box ), It was then I discovered a
DiCarlo's was in Chesapeake, honestly, I had a hard time going to sleep
that night from sheer excitment. The next day I made the 43.2 mile drive
to Chesapeake ,walked in the door of the pizza shop ,from the smell I knew
I had arrived. The taste and the memories were from my childhood. The
owners,Millet and Janet ,are great . I now make at least 2 trips per
month, buying one tray to eat on site and one tray for my freezer. In
closing I have to say,may God be my witness, I will never be DiCarlo's
pizzaless again...

Baltimore, MD
Originally from Michigan myself but my family is from
Wheeling. Some of my earliest memories are from family get togethers with
Dicarlo's Pizza many times right in the parking lot hot out of the oven!
Since I travel a bit for work whenever I'm anywhere near a Dicarlo's (near
meaning I've been known to drive from Baltimore to Elm Grove for a few
boxes on a whim) I have to stop in!
As luck would have it I'll be in Chesapeake for work next week and can't
wait!
Pic below (just me waiting for the Elm Grove store to open so it's just a
pic of the sign but I think you get the idea)!

My wife and I made the trip to the new DiCarlos in
Chesapeake yesterday (it felt for a minute like I was still living in the
valley since the Steelers were on locally and we ate DiCarlos pizza). My
wife and I are both from the valley (me from Moundsville and her from
Wheeling) so we had to make the trip to the new Chesapeake store. Whenever
we go home for Christmas ,we always make it a point to get Coleman's fish
sandwiches and DiCarlos pizza (usually from the Elm Grove store), so we
were happy to be able to have our pizza months earlier than usual. The
owner Millet was very friendly and he made us pizza that was authentic and
delicious. Hopefully the business will thrive and I will be able to have
my little slice of home as often as possible. Even though I have to drive
17 miles to get to the new store, I would pass up 100 inferior pizza shops
to get a slice of what I and my wife grew up on. Good luck in your new
business and thanks.

I grew up on this stuff in Weirton WV and it has
become the only highlight of my trips home.
Having it here in Chesapeake is cool but I hope they bring one to Virginia
Beach.

DiCarlo's is now in Chesapeake!!
I have lived in Virginia Beach for the past 21 years, but I grew up in
Wheeling WV, and I even worked at the
downtown DiCarlo's when I was in college. I've always thought a DiCarlo's
Pizza would do great down here in
Hampton Roads. There are only two things I had to have when I went home to
Wheeling: one is a Coleman's fish
sandwich and the other was DiCarlo's Pizza. I even have the downtown
Wheeling store on speed dial on my cell phone.

I have always loved DiCarlos pizza since a young age.
And when we were looking to buy a house one of the plusses of this house
we bought was that DiCarlos is about 1/2 mile away if not closer than
that.. We still after 4 years of living here still get it on a regular
basis. Especially after the kids are long asleep. That is the best time to
get it when you can sit down without kids and truly enjoy DiCarlos
Pizza!!!!

I recently saw your TV ad and had to try your pizza.
I am originally from Northeast Pennsylvania and was raised on Old Forge
(small town in PA) style pizza. Since moving to VA some 4 1/2 years ago, I
have found some good pizza, but they were not what I was accustomed to
eating.
Well, let me tell you! I just picked up my first tray, and you will be
seeing a lot more of me. It is definitely worth the 1/2 hour drive from VA
Beach. I can't believe the taste of the fabulous sauce, as well as, the
fresh crisp crust.
If I run into anyone from NE PA living in the Hampton Roads area, I will
be certain to tell them about your pizza. It's the BEST that I have had
since moving to VA.

I just saw the Ad for DiCarlo’s in Chesapeake and my
heart skipped a beat! Quite literally, I was out of breath. Thinking I was
dreaming, I called the number and spoke to Janet, and confirmed that yes
Virginia, There is a DiCarlos. I am at work now, and will be heading there
with my wife and child this weekend.
I was raised in Charlotte North Carolina, but am a Buckeye by Birth. I was
born in Steubenville OH, a short drive from Wheeling, WV. My earliest
memories of home are of going to see grandma, and going to DiCarlo’s at
midnite to get trays of pizza. Any time that we went home, and even to
this day, we always make it a point to make the drive to one of the
locations to get some of the best pizza on earth
(This was written last week, prior to my first visit)
Heck Yeah!! Twice in a week, I have had that baked goodness!! Not only was
it 100% true to the original store, the staff is great. In fact, I had
forgotten about the opening time, and had piled My wife and her
Grandmother in the car to make the 35 mile drive to DiCarlo’s; we got
there at 2 and they didn’t open till 3. I called, and Janet had asked
where I was, I said “Sitting in the Gold Car, outside your door!!” Her
brother wasn’t in yet, so she said that she could bake one for me, but
that she had never done it before, so she wasn’t sure of the turn out. I
was craving it, so I said yes, please. And it did not disappoint!! I have
since stopped another time on the way home from work, and again 100%
authentic. This is not cookie cutter, Papa J**hns or Pizza H*T; this is
the best pizza on earth. Fresh crust, and that smell when you walk in the
door that ONLY DiCarlos can produce. Words cannot express how much this
means to me. The first bite brought back so many long ago memories that I
got a little choked up. I honestly really have never had that feeling when
it comes to food before!
Anyways, I am just writing to share, and share I will. I am spreading the
word long and far to help them out. It must be tough with so many pizza
joints so close, but I honestly believe that once people get a bite, they
will be hooked, just as I am. I live in Camden NC, and make the drive to
Chesapeake just to eat it!
Sincerely,
Dave Lohr

My buddy always bragged about how good this
pizza is. Now that I've tried
it, I'm a believer...

I had my first taste of DiCarlos pizza about 32 years
ago. It was then and still is now the very best I have ever tasted. No
matter where we go it will always be the standard by which we judge the
pizza we are eating at the time. We lived in Virginia for 40 years and
always tried to take a tray home with us whenever we came back to
Moundsville for a visit. We then made the short drive to Elm Grove,
anticipating the scrumptious flavor we would soon be enjoying. The crust
was always just right, the sauce was perfect, and the way they put the
cheese on after it was done made it just right. ( I am making myself
hungry)
One year we sent our son Brian a tray for his birthday. He lived in
Newport News Virginia. He was totally surprised since he loves it also.
Now that there is a DiCarlos in Chesapeake Virginia, there is no happier
person than our son Brian. We hope that all goes well with the new store
there and hope that there are enough people to make the pizza, because
once they taste it you will be bombarded with customers. Good luck to the
new owners!!
Now if someone could just put a DiCarlos in Fredericksburg Va. for our
other son David or maybe one in Brooklyn New York for our daughter Sarah.

I just ate at Dicarlo's in Chesapeake and it was
awesome! They told me about your website.
I grew up in Steubenville, Ohio eating this pizza, in fact, we lived right
down the street and every weekend we would go wait in line for a "full
sheet". As a kid, I would ride my bicycle there to get a slice with my
friends. The Navy took me away some 30 years ago, I've been all over the
world, but every time I went home to Steubenville to visit my Mom, I had
to bring back a cooler full of Dicarlo's pizza and a box to eat it in. No
other pizza tastes like this, over the years I have met other people that
also are forever comparing inferior tasting pizza to Dicarlo's.
No more, now I have a taste of the valley right down the street again.
Guess my Mom will never see me again, haha.
Gota get me a shirt next week for sure.

I have so many great childhood memories of visiting
my grandparents
every summer in Wheeling, WV. My cousins would all grab a can of
Pepsi, pile into the back of a pick-up truck, and ride down to
DiCarlo's to split a tray of pizza.
I now live in Brooklyn, NY, with some of the best pizza in the world
and there's no doubt that DiCarlo's is at the top of my list. Thanks,
DiCarlo's!!

I grew up in
Moundsville, WV. I am 61 years old. When I was a young child, my parents
took us to get DiCarlos pizza for the first time. I had never heard of
pizza before. I told my parents that it smelled funny and I would never
eat pizza. My Mother encouraged me to taste it and I fell in love with it.
As a teenager, my friends and I always went to DiCarlos. Through the years
other pizza places popped up but none could compare to DiCarlos.
I grew up, moved away to the state of Virginia for work. and lived there
for 40 years. Each time that we visited family, we and our 4 children
always made a trip to DiCarlos pizza. It became a tradition. We could not
leave WV without having DiCarlos. I retired 3 years ago and moved back to
my home state of WV. We still go to DiCarlos Pizza in Elm Grove, WV. for a
treat, we drive and hour and a half for DiCarlos but it's worth every mile
that we drive! And although my parents are elderly now, they still enjoy
DiCarlos pizza. Its flavor is mouth watering and undoubtedly unsurpassed.
I'm am thrilled that there is a DiCarlos Pizza in Chesapeake, VA. Our son
lives in that area and has always been a great DiCarlos fan. I'm sure he
will be a regular customer and when we visit him and his family, we will
definitely be stopping by. Thanks for the memories DiCarlos.

I grew up eating DiCarlos pizza in West Virginia every time we visited our
family in Moundsville. We'd either get it from the
Elm Grove, or Glendale
locations. It was great, but it ruined me because nothing could ever
compare with DiCarlos. =)
So after tolerating bad pizza in Virginia for YEARS, two super-wonderful
people (Janet & Millet) changed everything!
They brought the world's best pizza right here to my home state!
Only in my dreams, did I ever expect to eat DiCarlos pizza right here
where I live,
but as of August 2008, my dreams have become a reality!

Here's me & Janet (co-owner) on the day I ordered my first VIRGINIA
DICARLOS PIZZA!!

Janet was SUPER NICE and gave us all free DiCarlos T-Shirts,
so we returned the favor by wearing them the next day to Water Country,
Williamsburg.

Here's a shot of me w/ the girls walking around the park, doing some
advertising for the best pizza on Earth!! =)
